Carmela Castellano-Garcia President

Is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the California Primary Care Association. Carmela has been committed to advancing multicultural health policy issues for over 20 years. She is also the Founder and a Board member of the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California, a leading health care policy and advocacy organization. Her legal background includes six years as a Managing Attorney with Public Advocates, Inc., a public interest law firm in San Francisco, and she currently sits on the Public Advocates’ Board of Governors. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Public Health Institute, the Chicana/Latina Foundation, and the California Health Information Partnership and Services Organization. She is a graduate of Yale Law School and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
