Silicon Valley De-Bug

Founded in 2001, Silicon Valley De-Bug is a nationally recognized organization that serves as a multimedia and organizing platform for unheard voices in our community — particularly low income people, people of color, youth, immigrants, and those impacted by the criminal justice system. Through media production and community organizing, De-Bug provides a collaborative space to produce media (writing, photography, video, and audio) and lead community campaigns by and from the voices of those most affected by pressing issues in our community, such as wealth inequality and immigration reform.  De-Bug also houses the Albert Cobarrubias Justice Project, a community organizing model that activates individuals facing charges, their families, and their communities to to impact the outcome of cases and transform the landscape of power in the court system through ‘participatory defense.’
